It was March of 2005 when Dylan’s web site was initially launched. During this time many things have changed, all for the good. Of course he has grown to about 5’10” and about 140 lbs. (not my little boy anymore). He, on his own, has discovered that he is a very good basketball player as well. Typically scoring 20 points a game is not unusual.
As we enter the 2008 racing season, and begin his transition into racing full size cars, we believe that his karting career is near an end. After 8 IKF National Championships, 6 IKF Regional Championships (in both Region 11[Northern California] and Region 7 [Southern California]) and well over 150 main event wins, he has done it all. As a family and team we have been very blessed.
2006 was an excellent year as Dylan won the Motor Sports Press Association Rising Star Award for all of his success. He raced exclusively in Southern California or IKF Region 7 and won a Regional Championship along with 2 National Championships. It is significant to note the overall sacrifices Dylan made in that achievement as he traveled 12 to 14 hours every other weekend and made it work in what is known to be the most competitive karting hotbed in the United States.
To all our karting competitors we will be running some selected or special races but 2008 will be a transition year and for the curious here is a run down.
Dylan has been secretly attending Skip Barber Driving School at all levels and doing well. No Sebring run offs this year. Several test are scheduled driving a limited sprint this spring on a asphalt half mile. Finally, testing and racing a full schedule in Legends. As one can imagine he will still be quiet busy but by the age of fifteen he will have experience driving different cars on every road coarse and short track in California.
